50th year - Golden Jubilee Celebrations
Inaugurating the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the school was Prof. P. J. Kurien, Dy. Chairman, Rajya Sabha kick started the year-long celebration. He also presented recognition awards to the longest-serving teachers of the school.
“Witnessing the growth of this school from its humble beginnings has been delighting. We have seen the transformation of the entire community of this area, affirming the mission of education with which we began. It’s a thrilling moment for us and hence as one community – students, staff, management and alumni we are marking 50 years with various events through the year, some of which are Memorial Lecture, Sound and Light show and outreach initiative to the community,” said Shirley A Zac, Principal.
The campus was filled with excitement, as the celebrations began. The crowded campus saw parents, former parents, alumni, students ready to perform, teachers, and management who looked back and reminisced the wonderful journey they were part of.
After the formal meeting, students put up thematic performances of song, dance and drama emphasising the importance of education.
Teachers with the longest experience were felicitated by the Chief Guest on their remarkable service in the school. Ms. Rani. P, Ms. Thilagavathy and Ms. Betty Fernandez were honoured for 40, 39 and 30 years of service at St. Thomas.
